Rhythms at Journey

How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.
-Annie Dillard

At Journey, we are not an event-driven church. We do not squeeze as many events as we possibly can within a given month, week, or day. The church is living and breathing, the Bride of Christ! We believe in being sensitive to the Holy Spirit and the needs of the church in any given season, being intentional with what we put on the church calendar. With that being said, we have rhythms that we keep that move us forward in the values we prioritize as a church body— values that bring us life and develop spiritual growth in our lives. While these rhythms are on the calendar, we pray that these rhythms will become something built in to your own.

Prayer

  • Come join us for a time of intercessory prayer every Sunday from 9:15-9:45am. Soak in His presence and pray as the Spirit leads.

  • Join us in the Main Sanctuary from 9:45-10:15am for a time of faith-filled prayer for our service, our church, and our community.

Fellowship

  • We love ministry around the table and use this time as an extension of our Sunday Service. Jesus modeled gathering around the table for a meal with all types of people— and we get to do the same. Bring a family-sized entree to share and sit with someone new. This could be the day you meet your future best friend.

  • Discipleship and formation is at the very heart of our church. Our men come together for a night of fellowship, each benefitting from gathering with other men while being shaped through prayer and biblical principles.

  • Discipleship and formation is at the very heart of our church. Our women come together for a night of fellowship, each benefitting from gathering with other ladies while being shaped through prayer and community.

Worship

  • Every week, we begin our Sunday Service with praise and worship together, lifting up songs to the Lord.

“Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
    Ephesians 5:19 NIV

  • Our Seek First Worship Nights gives another opportunity for us to worship and linger in God’s presence while we lift up our voices to our Heavenly Father.
